Brian Rogers

Biography

As the Chief Risk Officer of Prospera, Brian plays a critical role in safeguarding the credit union against competitive, regulatory, and operational threats. His responsibilities span across key functional areas such as credit adjudication and recovery, enterprise risk management, compliance, and centralized services.

Brian joined the credit union in 2015 after holding various positions within the credit union system. At Coast Capital Savings, he served as the Vice President Corporate Development, where he made contributions to the institution's growth and strategic initiatives. His nearly 3-decade career in the financial industry also includes 16 years with HSBC Bank Canada, where he concluded his tenure as the Head of Business Banking for Canada. Throughout his professional journey, Brian has amassed a wealth of experience in credit, commercial banking, credit risk management, and corporate development.

Brian holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, highlighting his commitment to excellence and expertise in financial analysis. He has also earned an MBA degree from York University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.

With his knowledge and skill set, Brian is instrumental in guiding Prospera's risk management strategies and ensuring the credit union's continued success in a complex and evolving financial landscape.
