Westminster Savings credit cards are moving to Prospera credit cards, issued by Collabria


    We’re taking the final step in the merger of Prospera and Westminster Savings Credit Union: moving all members to one credit card portfolio.

    What’s happening?

    We are very excited to introduce our new Prospera Credit Union credit cards to our former Westminster Savings credit card holders. Our new credit cards feature:

    • New Prospera Credit Union designs
    • Upgraded materials for superior card quality
    • Sustainability focused card options made using plastic reclaimed from coastal waters
    • Anywhere, anytime access to your recent credit card transactions when you link your card within our online banking platform
    • Access to the new CardWise Mobile app and CardWise Online (available October 2, 2023) to manage your credit card preferences, view details of your account, access spending insights, view your earned rewards and much more.     When is this happening?

    August 11 Notice of Change from Collabria mailed to cardholders  
    September 25 New Prospera credit cards, issued to members by Collabria, begin arriving  
    October 2 CardWise Mobile App and CardWise Online launch  
    November 6 New card activation deadline; Westminster Savings card will no longer work effective this date  
    November 6
    Deadline to download and/or print necessary historical Westminster Savings credit card statements  

    What you need to do:

    • Activate your new Prospera Credit Union credit card upon receipt prior to November 6, 2023. Your old Westminster Savings card will stop working on Nov 6, 2023. You can activate your new credit card by doing one of the following:
      • Call the Collabria Contact Centre for card activation at 1-866-498-3840
      • Download the CardWise Mobile App (via the Google Pay store or Apple App store) or register for CardWise Online available as of October 2, 2023.
    • Once you have activated your new Prospera Credit Union credit card, please destroy your old Westminster Savings branded credit card
    • If applicable, update your credit card information with any companies that you have set up any reoccurring payments by November 30, 2023 (eg. Gym membership, Telus, Spotify, etc.)
    • If applicable, update your credit card information on any shopping sites you use (eg: Amazon, Instacart)
    • If applicable, update your digital wallet (eg: Apple Pay, Google Pay) with your new credit card information and remove your Westminster Savings card
    • Update your payee information within online banking by adding your new card as a new bill payment. Once it’s added, delete the Westminster Savings card information.
    • Download the CardWise Mobile App (via the Google Pay store or Apple App store) or signup for CardWise Online (after October 2, 2023)
    • Download and/or print necessary Westminster Savings credit card statements by November 6, 2023

    Frequently asked questions

    Westminster Savings branded cards are being reissued with new Prospera branding.

    Since the merger in 2020, Prospera has been maintaining two different credit card offerings. This will bring all our credit cards under one portfolio and allow our team to better assist you moving forward. You will also be able to link your card to your online banking for easy access to your credit card transactions and information.
    All members who hold a Westminster Savings credit card
    New cards will begin to arrive the week of September 25, 2023.
    Activate your new card as soon as you receive it to allow time to set up authorized payments and update vendor information on shopping sites like Amazon, Instacart, etc. You will also need to add your new card to your Digital Wallet (Apple Pay/Google Pay).
    You can activate your card by doing one of the following: 
    • Call the Collabria Contact Centre for card activation at 1-866-498-3840 
    • Download the CardWise Mobile App (via the Google Pay store or Apple App store) or signup for CardWise Online available as of October 2, 2023.
    No, you will continue to receive the same features and benefits that you currently enjoy with your existing card.
    The annual fee cost is not changing. However, if your annual fee is typically charged in September, October, or November, you will now see the fee charged in December.
    Your PIN number, balances, card limits and reward points where applicable will transfer from the old account to the new account.
    No, this will not affect your credit bureau report or score. Cardholders will be shown as “transitioned” to a new issuer, which has no impact on credit bureau scores.
    Yes, your new Prospera credit card will be issued with a new account number, expiry date and CVV.
    No, your existing PIN will transfer to your new card.
    It is important to activate your card upon receipt to allow time to set up authorized payments and update vendor information on shopping sites like Amazon, Instacart, etc. Your Westminster Savings credit card can no longer be used after November 6, 2023.
    Payments to your old card should be stopped as soon as you activate your new Collabria credit card.
    Yes – payments made to the closed card will transfer over to the new card for a period of 3 months. Payments made after the 3 month deadline will be rejected.
    You will no longer be able to access these statements after November 6, 2023. Download and/or print any necessary statements before this deadline.
    You may receive two statements as transactions may not have transferred over to the new card due to the timing of the account statement. Once your new card is activated and a new billing cycle is completed you will no longer receive two statements.
    If your card is renewing in September, October, or November, you may receive a new Westminster Savings branded card. It is recommended to activate it to limit any service disruptions. Once you receive your new Prospera branded card, follow the steps listed above to activate it and update your payment information, then destroy your Westminster Savings branded card.

    Business card frequently asked questions

    No, each cardholder will need to activate their own card.
    Yes, it will transfer over. However, it is important to note that there will be a new control account generated which will have to be updated when making a payment to the new credit card.
    Yes, the Authorized Business Representative(s) will be transferred as is over to the new credit card.
    No, a new MyCardInfo login will need to be set -up for the new credit card. The cardholder is required to contact cardholder services to have this set up. Please note a new control account will be generated and communicated to all Authorized Business Representatives on the account for a payment to be applied correctly to the new credit card.
    The business is required to get in touch with Collabria Financial Services Inc. call centre at 1-855-341-4643 or email info@collabriafinancial.com to get their new control account number.
    The No Fee Cash Back Visa is not available within the Prospera product line. It has been replaced with the No Fee Cash Back MasterCard. The MasterCard offers you the same features and benefits you’ve previously enjoyed with your Visa. Any rewards points and balances will transfer over to the new card.
