Prospera Credit Union signs on for limited partnership with venture capital investment

Surrey, BC – Prospera Credit Union has invested in Emmertech, a new agriculture tech-focused venture capital fund launched by Conexus Venture Capital.

Emmertech invests in Canadian agricultural technology (agtech) companies looking to lead the next evolution in agriculture, with a special focus on “where technology meets farm”.

“Prospera is pleased to support enterprising businesses that contribute to creating vibrant, healthy communities,” said Prospera Credit Union President and CEO Gavin Toy. “Our investment will help support entrepreneurs, our local communities, and the Canadian agriculture sector.”

Emmertech closed on December 31, 2021, and brought together investors from across Canada, including Prospera and several other Canadian credit unions. Other investors include agriculture stakeholders like farmers, agribusiness owners, and ag-focused insurance companies.

Emmertech is the second fund launched by Conexus Venture Capital, as it continues to engage with non-traditional Canadian tech ecosystems to support its founders.
