Paying in stores with Apple Pay is easy, safe and private.


It’s easy to add your Prospera debit card to Apple Pay

  1. Open the Wallet app
  2. Tap + in the upper right corner
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to add your Prospera Debit Card
Apple Watch:
  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
  2. Go to the My Watch tab. If you have multiple watches, choose one
  3. Tap Wallet & Apple Pay and select Add Credit or Debit Card
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to add your Prospera Debit Card
  5. Note: If provisioning fails, please try adding the card manually

Paying with Apple Pay

If using an iPhone 8 or earlier with Touch ID, rest your finger or thumb on the home button and hold the top of your iPhone within a few centimetres of the contactless reader. You will see Done and a checkmark on the display letting you know your payment was approved. If vibration and sounds are enabled, you will feel a subtle vibration and hear a beep.

To pay with an
iPhone X, double-click the side button, then glance at iPhone X to authenticate with Face ID or enter your passcode. Hold the top of iPhone X within a few centimeters of the contactless reader until you see Done and a checkmark on the display.

With an
Apple Watch, double-click the side button and hold the display of your Apple Watch within a few centimetres of the contactless reader. Wait until you feel a gentle tap. You will see Done and a checkmark on the display letting you know your payment was approved.

Where to Use Apple Pay

Apple Pay using your Prospera Debit Card works wherever Interac® Flash is accepted. Just look for the Interac® Flash logo or contactless symbol at the checkout. Some stores will also display the Apple Pay logo.


How do I add my Prospera Member Card® debit card to Apple Pay?

On your iPhone through Prospera Mobile Banking App
  1. Update your Prospera Mobile Banking App to the latest version.
  2. Sign into Prospera Mobile Banking App on your iPhone.
  3. Go to settings. Click on Setup Apple Pay.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to add your Prospera Member Card debit card.

On your iPhone through the Wallet app:
  1. Open the Wallet app.
  2. Press the plus sign in the upper right corner.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to add your Prospera Member Card debit card.

On your Apple Watch through the Apple Watch app:
  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Wallet & Apple Pay” and select “Add a credit or debit card”.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to add your Prospera Member Card debit card.
  4. You can also set up your Apple Watch through the Prospera Mobile Banking App (see above).

Can I add my Prospera Member Card to more than one Apple device?

Yes, you can add your card to one or more eligible Apple devices, up to a total of 9 devices.

How do I make my Prospera Member Card the default card in Apple Pay?

The first card added to Apple Pay is automatically set to be the default card. To change your default card, open the Wallet app, hold and drag your Prospera card to the front. You may also:
  1. Open Settings and select “Wallet & Apple Pay”
  2. Select “Default Card” under “Transaction Defaults” and choose your Prospera card.

Is Apple Pay free?

No. Apple Pay is included as part of your Prospera account. Each Apple Pay payment will count as an additional debit transaction, if you pay transaction fees for your account. Please contact us any time to discuss the right account package for you.

Is there a maximum dollar amount for a purchase?

No, there is no maximum value for Apple Pay transactions, since each purchase is verified within Apple Pay using Face ID or Touch ID. Please contact us if you experience a situation where a retailer has imposed a limit on Apple Pay transactions.

Am I subject to a daily spending limit?

Yes. Prospera will continue to monitor your total spending across the payment services that access your account, including your Prospera Debit Card at retail locations via Apple Pay. Apple Pay purchases are included in your existing total limit.

Is my account number stored on my phone?

No, your account number is replaced with a secure digital number known as a token. The token represents your Prospera Member Card debit card and is used to make secure purchases, in-app and in-store.

On which devices will Apple Pay work?

Apple Pay works on the following devices:
  1. iPhone 7; iPhone 7 Plus
  2. iPhone 6s; iPhone 6s Plus; iPhone 6; iPhone 6 Plus
  3. iPhone SE
  4. iPhone 8; iPhone 8 Plus
  5. iPhone X
  6. Apple Watch paired with iPhone 5 or later

Do I need network access to make a purchase?

No, a network connection is not required to make a payment, but it is recommended to receive transaction alerts.

How do I do a refund?

Refunds are initiated by the Merchant at their POS terminal, following the same rules as refunds do today. It’s recommended that you bring your physical card with you.

What if my device is lost or stolen?

If you believe your device or Apple Pay card information has been lost, stolen or compromised in any way, call us immediately at 1-888-440-4480.

For an iPhone, you can use the Find My iPhone app to temporarily suspend or permanently remove the ability to make payments from your device, even if your device is offline. If you suspend your Prospera Debit Card using Find My iPhone, you can reactivate your card by unlocking your device and entering your Apple ID Passcode when prompted. For any supported Apple device, you can always go to, choose the applicable device and delete your card.

Will removing my card from Apple Pay deactivate my plastic card?

No. Removing your Prospera Debit Card from Apple Pay will not affect your plastic card.

Apple Pay 2019 Contest

Participation in the Apple Pay 2019 Contest constitutes the entrant's full and unconditional agreement with and acceptance of these Official Rules and all decisions of Prospera Credit Union, which are final on all matters relating to the Contest. 

Entrants must be legal residents of British Columbia who have reached the age of majority. Employees of the Sponsor, its affiliates, parent and sister companies, advertising and promotional agencies, contractors, distributors, and corporate partners and members of the immediate families of each are not eligible. All provincial, municipal and federal laws and regulations apply.

Members automatically enter with each Apple Pay transaction made using their Prospera debit card into their personal banking account.

One entry will be awarded for each qualifying transaction throughout the contest period.

The contest may also be entered by calling 1.888.440.4480. No purchase necessary.

The contest period begins on June 10, 2019 at 8:00 am and ends on August 30, 2019 at 6 pm, and the draw will take place on September 10, 2019.

There is one grand prize of an Apple Watch Series 4, and three additional prizes of $100 Apple store gift cards to be won.

The prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions. A member or non-member can apply and win the contest however picture ID needs to be disclosed when collecting the prize.

Sponsor reserves the right to substitute an alternate prize of equivalent or greater value if a prize cannot be awarded as described. Prize will only be delivered to the verified winner. All decisions of the contest judging organization are final and binding in all matters relating to this contest.

Entrants who have not complied with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification.

Only one winner per draw prize. The same winner cannot win more than one of the prizes. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant will be required to execute and return the contest sponsors’ affidavit of eligibility and publicity/liability release within 14 days of receipt. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize or fails to return a completed and executed affidavit and release as required, or is otherwise unwilling or unable to comply with these rules, that entrant will be disqualified. By accepting a prize, the winner consents to the use of their name and likeness for publicity and commercial purposes without further compensation.

The winners of the Apple Pay 2019 Contest will be contacted by their Prospera branch or the branch closest to the area they live to come into that branch and collect their prize.

Prospera Credit Union and its agents are not responsible for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by the prize or resulting from participation in the contest. Prospera Credit Union reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or modify the contest if fraud, technical failures, or a player’s unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner destroys the integrity of the contest, or if factors beyond the Sponsor’s control make it impossible for the Sponsor to administer this contest as planned.
