Prospera Credit Union unveils new enhanced digital banking experiences
Canada’s 6th largest credit union launches new mobile banking app

Surrey, BC – October 27, 2020

Prospera Credit Union launched today a new mobile banking application, the first in a series of enhanced digital updates. Developed in partnership with Central 1, the Forge Digital Banking Platform is the latest innovation adopted by Canada’s sixth largest credit union. It provides a leading-edge user experience, improved performance, and enhanced security features for Prospera’s 120,000+ members.

“This is an exciting digital advancement for our recently-merged organization and our members,” says Gavin Toy, President & CEO of Prospera Credit Union.

“A key reason Prospera and Westminster Savings merged was to have the resources to invest in enhanced products and service for our members, and launching this app for all of our members is a great, early example of this.”

The two organizations merged on January 1, 2020, to become one Prospera, and are committed to further digital innovations in the future.

Using Backbase’s global-leading omni-channel banking solution as the foundation, the new Prospera mobile banking application offers a modern and streamlined platform that is designed to transform the user experience. Through this mobile application, Prospera is introducing “state-of-the-art” digital banking technologies and solutions that its members want and expect to use now, and in the future.

“Congratulations to Prospera Credit Union on an exceptional mobile app on the Forge Digital Banking platform,” says Mark Blucher, President and CEO of Central 1. “It’s exciting to see our clients prioritizing digital transformation at a time when it’s needed most, and to see Canadians receiving the intuitive digital banking experience they need and deserve.”

“We strive to give our members the ability to bank how they want, when they want, and we will continue to deliver innovative digital services to make their lives easier,” says Greg Dyck, Chief Digital and Information Officer. “Partnering with Central 1 on this leading-edge modern digital platform will enable us to fully transform the digital banking experience our members engage with every day.”

Currently available for retail banking members, Prospera Credit Union plans on extending this transformational platform for Online Banking, Company Website and Business Banking members over the next year.
