November is Financial Literacy Month in Canada

ABBOTSFORD, BC, NOVEMBER 8, 2018:
Did you know that in Canada more than 60 per cent of adults rate their financial knowledge as fair or poor? November is Financial Literacy Month in Canada, which makes this the perfect time to start a conversation about money. Now in its third year, the focus of the month is to raise awareness about the importance of acquiring life skills that allow Canadians to act knowledgeably and with confidence when managing their personal finances.

Improving financial literacy at any age is beneficial. At Prospera, our commitment to make a meaningful difference in the financial well-being of our members extends beyond simply offering financial services, to providing members at all stages of life with the skills and knowledge they need to make good financial decisions.

The most common thing that we see holding people back when it comes to learning how to take charge of their finances is fear. This is where we can help.

At Prospera, we recently launched the Don’t Just Bank, Prosper Blog. Whatever life stage our readers are at, this blog has something for everyone! Our first few posts are all about wealth management but coming soon you’ll see articles on mortgages, budgeting, family, growing your business – and more! In addition, throughout the month of November, Prospera will be initiating a conversation through our social media platforms sharing budgeting tips and tricks as well as financial literacy advice.
